Male 4 weeks old Wisconsin Household Pet

What's Included

This listing is for our black ghost tiger polydactyl boy, Obsidian. He has polydactyl mittens with pronounced thumbs on his front feet - back feet may be poly as well, but I'm waiting for him to settle a bit before I check that. His fur is long and thick - very promising that he'll be Maine Coonish like his brother. He was rescued from a wild birth 3 days ago, when he was just three weeks old. He spent the first 48 hours very uncertain, though little enough that he couldn't help falling asleep when we held him for a while. Mama cat is assuring him that all is well, but he's more cautious than his siblings and is reserving judgment for a little longer. He doesn't hiss or swat, but he's just not comfy yet as his siblings are. Moving house is just very tiring and stressful! ———————-——————— Polydactyl babies are $250 each. If you would like to reserve a poly baby, we request $100 down by Venmo or Paypal - fully refundable if you change your mind before the 6 weeks birthday. If you live too far away to drive to us, I am willing to drive the 150 miles round trip to the Green Bay airport to meet you (rather than you having to rent a car to come up here). I do ask for an additional $50 donation to our sanctuary to cover fuel/vehicle/time, though.

About This Kitten

Our location is about 1 hour north of Green Bay, Wi; 5 hours east of St.Paul, Mn; or 5 hours north of Chicago, Il. I do not ship or fly kittens, though I will meet families with their kittens at GRB if they fly in. Your best experiences will come from meeting your kittens’ family, seeing where/how they were raised, and choosing your kittens in person. ———————————-Our kittens are raised in our home with much love and care - and their mother’s attentions, too. We keep our all of our felines pest-free and parasite-free, using natural products rather than chemicals whenever possible. We believe firmly that all medical decisions are the right of the adoptive families, to be performed by the kittens’ trusted lifelong vet. ————————————— It is our pleasure to pour our time and attention into these babies, providing you with loving kittens who adore people (for they have never experienced trauma, troubles, or neglect). All kittens are raised as we would want our own babies to be raised. They start in XL kennels with their mothers, one family per kennel, in the sunny kitten room. Mama Cat is given regular breaks outside of the kennel as the babies grow, until they are adopted or weaned, and then she is returned to her regular environment. As the babies grow, their freedoms grow to match their energies. In the beginning, they take 1-2 hours of nap times daily in our laps, getting used to the voices, heat, and scents of multiple family members and visitors. As we clean the kennels twice daily, there is much interaction - and as the kittens begin to toddle, we put them in the kitten room's recliner while the kennel is being cleaned (a first experience of the wider world). When the kennel becomes confining, they begin to have supervised playtimes on the kitten room floor with us - always returning to the kennels for meals and nap times to ensure good litter box training and a sense of safety. The second stage is several daily blocks of unsupervised playtime in the kitten room between meals/naps, with inviting litter boxes on the floor. If they are still with us at 12 weeks, they are given my mother's entire little house for play times (little hooligans by this stage - nothing is safe!). If they remain with us up to their 20th week, they begin to have playtime in the attached garage and all of its wonderous cat trees, windows, and big spaces. Always, they are returned to their kennels for meals and nap time in the sunny kitten room at the back of the house (it's nice to have the bathroom close by when you wake up). ————————————-———————————- All adoption fees/donations are used to cover the expenses of the rescue cats in our care. New rescues are only accepted when space becomes available and for a modest surrender fee. When we accept a rescue cat, we keep them for life - they have had enough upheaval in their lives and deserve a peaceful, happy barn or house life.---------------------We provide regular photos/videos to adoptive families, especially when they are too far away for casual visits. No veterinary procedures are performed in advance of the adoption - leaving all medical decisions in the hands of the family, to be performed by the kitten’s lifetime vet. The only exception is if a kitten reached sexual maturity (6 months) before adoption, and then the cost of spaying/neutering will be added to the adoption. All kittens are weaned and used to Friskies dry kitten chow before adoption (we recommend not adopting before 7-8 weeks for a single kitten, though pairs can go as early as 5-6 weeks).
